43mishimasGame takes place post-Sonic Forces, relatively similarly to the IDW comics ... Also taken some ideas from Sonic Underground and SatAM.
After Eggman's epic defeat at the end of Sonic Forces, he disappeared without a trace leaving nothing but badniks behind. The problem is that no one knew who was controlling them or how they seemed to be taking over again. Many cities were destroyed, homes burned down. The robots ran the areas now, patrolling everywhere they could to seek out freedom fighters and roboticize them to shut them up.
Naturally, this occurrence caused mayhem on Mobius. Mobians weren't only fighting for their freedom against the robots, but new enemies arrived within themselves- bands of thieves and gangs started to grow and terrorize areas in turf wars. Going outside was never safe aside from in a few, small areas. Many mobians were force to be trained in combat when they weren't ready, and others had to deal with losses and grievances left and right. Many people were starting to lose hope, but they fought on yet.
